
Carmen is a self-taught artist from Elbow. She works with several different art media including painting, woodburning, sculpting and drawing. When possible, Carmen tries to include into her final painting, the natural designs found in a piece of wood or rock. Her love for the outdoors and animals is apparent in her artwork.
Carmen has taught art classes at her art studio and in the school classroom. She is also a provincial park interpreter and shares her knowledge about the local wildlife and plants with others during interpretive hikes or nature programs. Her experiences hiking, cross-country skiing and just exploring the outdoors has provided her with valuable knowledge contributing to her nature-themed art.
