Lorna hand builds and uses a potter’s wheel to create functional pieces and yard art or decorative pieces.
Since being introduced to pottery 8 years ago in Sun City, AZ. Lorna has developed many friendships, and many fun pottery ideas and techniques to make “art” fun. She participates in many informational and hands-on classes learning new techniques in glazing, wheel throwing, sculpting and hand building.
While in Elbow, Lorna enjoys sharing ideas with Georgia of Grey Street Pottery. In her garage studio, she throws and hand builds her projects and feels very fortunate that Georgia shares kiln space so she can bisque and glaze fire her pieces. Lorna mostly hand builds but has adapted some pieces using a potter’s wheel. While she does create some functional pieces, she prefers to hand build/sculpt yard art or decorative pieces.
She has the best of all worlds, – a great group of talented mudders in Sun City, Arizona to learn and share ideas with during winter months, then with Georgia, another very talented potter, from Grey Street Pottery here in Elbow, who shares her knowledge and expertise the rest of the year.
Lorna is happiest just muddin!
